One pathway into a registered apprenticeship program is through pre-apprenticeship. Pre-apprenticeship is designed to prepare students to enter and succeed in registered apprenticeship. The Gulf Coast Carpenters & Millwrights Training Trust Fund offers pre-apprenticeship through our Career & Technical Education partners who offer our curriculum to their high school students. These schools have a documented partnership with registered apprenticeship and together, we expand career pathway opportunities with soft skills and industry-based training coupled with classroom instruction.

Through pre-apprenticeship, students are able to explore the crafts of our trades. Our courses put a focus on improving trade-related literacy, math skills, safety, and work-readiness skills that construction contractors value. Upon completion of pre-apprenticeship, students receive advanced credit when applying to our Registered Apprenticeship Program.
